Regulations for Student Leave of Absence is scheduled to take effect from the spring semester of the 2023-24 academic year.

National Cheng Kung University Regulations for Student Leave of Absence, amended and approved by the Student Affairs Council in the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year on December 22, 2023, is scheduled to take effect from the spring semester of the 2023-24 academic year.

Explanation:

 (I)  In accordance with an amendment to the Civil Code, which sets the age of majority at 18, approved by the Legislative Yuan on December 25, 2020 and taking effect on January 1, 2023, NCKU has revised Subsection 2 in Article 7 of National Cheng Kung University Regulations for Student Leave of Absence (hereafter the Regulations, Attachment 1) by deleting the phrase “documents indicating the consent of parental authority or legal guardian” from the context for an application for personal leave for more than three days to safeguard student rights.

(II)  The Regulations, amended by the Student Affairs Council in the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year on December 22, 2023, has been approved by the NCKU president to take effect from the spring semester of the 2023-24 academic year.
